NFQ Major Awards
Major awards are the main class of award made at a level in the NFQ. You may have heard of some of these, for example the Leaving Certificate, the Advanced Certificate or the Honours Bachelor Degree. There are 16 major awards in the NFQ as follows:
- Level 1 Certificate (NFQ Level 1)
- Level 2 Certificate (NFQ Level 2)
- Level 3 Certificate (NFQ Level 3)
- Junior Cycle/Certificate (NFQ Level 3)
- Level 4 Certificate (NFQ Level 4)
- Level 5 Certificate (NFQ Level 5)
- Leaving Certificate (NFQ Level 4/5)
- Advanced Certificate (NFQ Level 6)
- Higher Certificate (NFQ Level 6)
- Ordinary Bachelor Degree (NFQ Level 7)
- Honours Bachelor Degree (NFQ Level 8)
- Higher Diploma (NFQ Level 8)
- Masters Degree (NFQ Level 9)
- Post-Graduate Diploma (NFQ Level 9)
- Doctoral Degree (NFQ Level 10)
- Higher Doctorate (NFQ Level 10)
