This course provides students with a firm understanding of research strategies and resources used when researching law. This course provides an opportunity for students to review and improve their research skills to increase their proficiency and confidence in the workplace.
This course is an ECTS 5 credit module of the Honours Bachelor of Laws (LL.B).
On completion of this course, students should be able to:
• Have the ability to gather, analyse and assimilate legal information from various sources;
• Read and comprehend legal information, and communicate that comprehension in written and verbal form;
• Correctly reference legal sources;
•Apply legal theories to problem scenarios/case studies through research, critical analysis and reasoning;
• Foster the skills of communication and self-directed learning;
• Cultivate skills to transfer into the work place;
• Equip students with the knowledge and concepts pertaining to Legal Research & Communication;
• Give foundation knowledge of the principles of Legal Research & Communication.
