Duration 10 weeks, 4 hours per week, plus field trips 1 evening per week, Tuesday evenings, from 6.00pm to 10.00pm.
Course Fee Course fee is €750.

Entry Requirements Applicants must satisfy a minimum entry requirement of Grade D3 or higher at Ordinary Level in five Leaving Certificate Subjects, or equivalent. Two of these subjects must include Mathematics and a Language (Irish or English).

Subjects Taught Week 1: Basic Aerodynamics
Week 2: Aircraft Instruments – Flight Engine & Navigation Instruments
Week 3: Introduction to Aircraft Engines, Piston and Jet
Week 4: Aircraft Structures
Week 5: Aircraft Composite Technology
Week 6: Aviation Meteorology
Week 7: Human Factors Decision Making and Physiology in Flight
Week 8: Understanding the Air Traffic Control System
Week 9: Aircraft Control Theory
Week 10: Simulated Flight Lesson
Assessment Method The student will be required to produce 1 piece of written work as assigned per topic following a period of self study and using the study material provided.
