Scholarly Communication and Research Evaluation explores the use of bibliometrics, data, peer review processes, and funding models in relation to research practices and research policies in universities, funding agencies, and research councils. Ethnographic, qualitative, and mixed methods are used to inquire the complexity of the dynamic interrelationship between research practices and research evaluation.

Critical Information Studies examines information-related phenomena from a critico-social perspective. This research approach can be used to study a wide range of topics, including philosophy of information, culture and communication, information infrastructures, and so on. Conceptual and historical analyses are the primary apparatuses in this approach.

Information Behaviour
Information behaviour explores the multiple ways in which we interact with information, including finding, evaluating, communicating, organising, creating, utilising (or not using) information in a variety of contexts, such as our leisure, everyday, and work lives. Research in this field encompasses cognitive, affective, physical, and technological factors, as well as passive and active approaches to information among individuals and groups of people.
