Course Fee In general, there are two levels of fees payable. EU students from EU countries including Ireland pay a subsidised level of fees for both taught courses and research programmes. Tuition fees for students from outside the EU are not subsidised and are thus somewhat higher than for EU students.

Entry Requirements BA or comparable degree. Minimum English language requirements for students whose first language is not English apply. Applicants must have a recognised primary degree which is considered equivalent to Irish university primary degree level.

Subjects Taught The Higher Diploma requires a student to take both Second and Third Year English from the BA programme in a single year, amounting to 60 credits in English.
Careers or Further Progression The programme has helped graduates to qualify towards a career in teaching at Leaving Certificate level. Applicants who wish to use this programme to enhance their range of teaching subjects are advised to contact the Teaching Council before applying to ensure recognition.
