Hide-Mechatronic Engineering is a multi-disciplinary integrated approach to product design and development that has become a key enabling resource for gaining competitive edge in the modern manufacturing era. Consequently, it has had a significant influence in the nature of engineering education and training worldwide. As an emerging engineering discipline, Mechatronic Engineering integrates precision mechanical engineering, control theory, computer science and electronics as applicable to:
product design process, for creation of more functional and adaptable products
process control and automation
quality control/management
system efficiency enhancement, including ergonomics
TU815 Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Mechatronics (NFQ level 8) is therefore targeted towards those working in the above areas and allied industry, who have already achieved the award of Bachelor of Engineering in Mechatronics (NFQ level 7) or equivalent engineering qualification.
IT Requirements:
A HIGH spec is recommended (i.e. able to run Win 10, design packages such as Solid Works etc. should be able to run comfortably i.e. needs high RAM, larger SSD, Graphics acceleration, etc.). A Windows machine is required. Apple Macs are not recommended due to software package installation requirements.
