Entry Requirements Normally, applicants will be at least 21 years of age by 1 January of the year of application. However, applicants who have appropriate training and experience, but who are not yet 21 years, may be deemed suitable by the selection committee. English Language Requirement: All applicants whose first language is not English must have attained IELTS Level 6 or the equivalent TOEFL score.

The solar system and the Earth as a planet; the Earth's interior and plate tectonics; earthquakes; volcanoes...

Assessment Method Assessment combines work completed in practical classes and on fieldtrips with individual research in the form of essays and poster presentations. Theory and practical exams are held at the end of each module.
Careers or Further Progression This course provides the opportunity for students to supplement their education for pleasure or for professional development.

Students who complete the Diploma in Geology often continue their education by undertaking part-time or full-time BSc courses in the subject. This course has provided a springboard for students to proceed to higher education either on a part-time or full-time basis. Others have used the course to change career direction.
