Course Content This programme aims to provide a level of knowledge and skills in Accounting & Finance, that prepares students for middle level responsibility in an accountancy environment. Students who gain the Bachelor Degree Award may exit into the world of employment with this valuable qualification and work in practice or industry in sectors such as financial services, banking, insurance, manufacturing, construction and consultancy.
Subjects Taught The course includes a blend of subjects including: international financial reporting; income and corporate Taxation; auditing and assurance; financial management and investment analysis along with a personal development module and a blend of information systems modules including an accounting and payroll package and practical application of computer assisted audit techniques.
Assessment Method Assessment includes individual and group projects, computer lab assessments, in class assessments and end of semester examinations.
Careers or Further Progression Graduates may enter professional practices or industry as trainee accountants and pursue professional exams having obtained 7 exemptions from ACCA. This valuable qualification allows the student work in practice or industry in sectors such as financial services, banking, insurance, manufacturing, construction and consultancy.
