Financial Support Postgraduate Scholarships

Maynooth University invested €1.4 million in postgraduate scholarship support in 2019. Entry Requirements Applicants must have a recognised primary degree which is considered equivalent to Irish university primary degree level.

Minimum English language requirements:

•IELTS: 6.5 minimum overall score
•TOEFL (Paper based test): 585
•TOEFL (Internet based test): 95
•PTE (Pearson): 62

Course Content MLitt
Students must take a minimum of 10 credits in taught modules (at least 5 in generic/transferable modules and at least 5 in subject specific/advanced specialist modules) from the structured PhD programme.

PhD
Candidates take 50 credits over three years. This is comprised of GSA1, GSA2, GSA3, EN841, EN842, EN851, EN852, EN861, EN862 plus at least one other module from the list of optional modules.
Careers or Further Progression Students will develop their potential as future academics or may consider careers in teaching.
