Course Fee In general, there are two levels of fees payable. EU students from EU countries including Ireland pay a subsidised level of fees for both taught courses and research programmes. Tuition fees for students from outside the EU are not subsidised and are thus somewhat higher than for EU students.

Entry Requirements Applicants will be qualified, registered second-level teachers with an honours primary degree and honours Professional Masters in Education (PME) or equivalent qualifications. At least three years’ experience of teaching and experience in areas such as pastoral care or a school care team are essential

Subjects Taught Participants attend Maynooth University one day per week and engage in school placement one day per week. The programme begins with an early-September Induction week.
Careers or Further Progression Successful completion of Postgraduate Diploma in School Guidance Counselling will qualify participants to provide and manage a School Guidance Counselling Service.

The programme is recognized by the Irish Department of Education and Skills, the National Centre for Guidance in Education and the Institute of Guidance Counsellors as a professional, international qualification in Guidance Counselling.
