Entry Requirements |
A Primary Degree in which Mathematical Physics or equivalent forms a substantial component. Applicants must have a recognised primary degree which is considered equivalent to Irish university primary degree level.
Minimum English language requirements:
IELTS: 6.5 minimum overall score
TOEFL (Paper based test): 585
TOEFL (Internet based test): 95
PTE (Pearson): 62

Course Content |
This is a one year full-time or two or more years part-time taught course. It is aimed at those who have a primary degree in a related subject who wish to convert this to a degree in theoretical or mathematical physics. Those holding the Higher Diploma are deemed to have reached the honours degree standard in Mathematical (Theoretical) Physics. |
Subjects Taught |
Students take 60 credits of Mathematical Physics from the level 4 and level 3 modules. At least half the credits must be taken at level 4. All module choices are subject to approval by the course director or head of department. |
Careers or Further Progression |
The course provides a solid foundation in Theoretical Physics/Applied Mathematics for students who wish to pursue careers in science, engineering, commerce and technology. Graduates gain employment in a wide range of occupations including research, teaching, actuary, banking, software development, computational physics and computer modelling/simulation. |
