Course selection can be from any of our PhD, Research and Taught Masters, Diplomas or Certificate courses. The fee is paid directly to PAC.

Course Fee In general, there are two levels of fees payable. EU students from EU countries including Ireland pay a subsidised level of fees for both taught courses and research programmes. Tuition fees for students from outside the EU are not subsidised and are thus somewhat higher than for EU students.

Entry Requirements A primary degree, professional diploma or equivalent is required with a minimum of three years experience working with adults. For international students whose first language is not English, an English language exam certificate showing IELTS 6.5 (or equivalent) is required.

The Department is recognised as a leader in outreach programmes for third level education.
Course Content The course is designed for people working with adults in adult guidance & counselling, providing information, advice and placement services. The course provides an understanding of core concepts and ideas concerning sociology, marginalisation, exclusion and adult career development. This course is also offered as a Diploma for candidates who do not have a primary degree but have extensive experience in the field.

Modules include adult guidance and counselling skills, case review and professional development, integrating theory and practice and research methodologies
Careers or Further Progression Careers
This two-year part-time course has played a key role in the professionalisation of adult guidance in Ireland. Graduates from this programme are eligible for membership of the Institute Guidance Counsellors.
