Induction for the 2022/2023 academic year takes place (online via Zoom) on Saturday 10th September from 930am to 1pm. In advance, you will be required to review Pre Induction reading material, available to you on www.aitflexiblelearning.ie.
During Induction, you will be given the opportunity to:
Meet your programme lecturers, programme co-ordinator and students
Overview of the programme handbook, programme’s modules, assessments and delivery timetable
Introduction to Athlone IT’s operating systems including MS Office, Zoom, Moodle etc
Outline of the learning supports available to you during the programme

Plus 4 Saturdays per semester Online (9 am – 1 pm).
For online programmes, lectures will be delivered online and recordings of lectures will be available to view in the student’s own time.

Applicants must have completed one of the following or a recognised equivalent (must be 60 ECTS at NFQ Level 6 to be considered):
Level 6 Major Award in Business Studies (FETAC or QQI)

The Higher Certificate in Business offers a wide range of business-related subjects including Accounting, Economics, Management, Marketing and Human Resource Management.
This programme is an advanced entry programme, that is direct entry into year two Higher Certificate in Business, that leads to the award of Higher Certificate in Business – 120 ECTS. |

This programme will provide participants with the essential skills and practical knowledge required to facilitate success in any business situation.
The course will also comprise learning in the area of professional development and career planning.
Assessments will be based on real case studies and live work-related projects.
The applied nature of the delivery of this programme will give participants of this programmes the opportunity to apply theory to practice. This is facilitated through the use of case studies from real businesses and through the examination of real business problems.

Progression from the Higher Certificate in Business Studies is on to the Level 7 Bachelor of Business Studies.
On successful completion, students are eligible to apply and progress to the Level 8 Bachelor of Business Studies. On successful completion, students are eligible to apply and progress to a Level 9 Postgraduate Diploma in various disciplines or Masters of Business Studies in Research. |
