Hide-You will acquire comprehensive knowledge and understanding of key scientific principles, theories and practice, and their intelligent application to problems within modern manufacturing industry. The course focuses on manufacturing philosophies that reflect leading industrial practice, and the application of the latest computer-aided engineering systems to achieve enhanced and sustainable manufacturing performance.
Driven by the School’s internationally recognised research, the course draws upon expertise in areas such as aerospace composites, polymers, advanced metal forming, medical devices, biomedical engineering, and nanotechnology.
Build skills and knowledge in the core areas of computer-aided engineering for managers, manufacturing systems and quality with the opportunity to specialise in materials, nanotechnology, electronics, finite element, and biomaterials. Part-time students who are in full-time employment can obtain credit for work-based activity in the work-based learning modules. A significant number of students come from local engineering companies and the course content is suitable for engineering or science graduates looking to improve their employment prospects.
Work placement / study abroad
Part-time students can undertake work based learning modules.

Hide-Career options
Upon successful completion of the programme students will be more employable within a wide range of manufacturing industries. The wide range of optional modules available in areas such as Biomedical Engineering, Nanotechnology, Aerospace and Materials allows students to tailor the course towards their particular interests.
Another important opportunity for MSc students is the academic/research career through a PhD programme such as those offered in the Engineering Research Institute (ERI) which hosts the MSc programme.
