The Institute welcomes applications from persons who will be 23 years of age and over on the 1st of January of the proposed year of entry and who wish to be admitted as a mature student. The Institute reserves a minimum of 5% of all places for mature applicants. |
Application Date |
In March of each year, MTU welcomes applications for add-on degree and honours degree programmes, with a commencement date of the following September.
The application process is open for one month, from early March to the first week in April each year (this date changes slightly due to the Easter holidays, but it is always within the first week in April). |

The Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy Management & Practice is specifically designed to provide qualified Pharmacy Technicians with the additional skills, knowledge and competencies required to progress to a Management role in a Community or Hospital Pharmacy setting.
Why study Pharmacy Management and Practice at MTU - Kerry Campus?
Learners who are already qualified Pharmacy Technicians (Level 6 Higher Certificate), will develop the academic, professional and practical skills required for progression to a management role in pharmacy. A knowledge of human resource management, of business strategy and financial management, and of clinical pharmacy and pharmaceutical care, upskills the Pharmacy Technician, and enables them to progress their career within the Pharmacy Team structure. Central to the philosophy of this programme is that graduates will attain a sound basis in business management skills, while furthering their knowledge as Pharmacy Technicians and working under the auspices of the Pharmacy Act.. The programme includes Pharmacy Work Based learning which can be carried out either in a Hospital or Community Pharmacy setting.

Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy Management & Practice graduates will have gained the skills and competencies required for Managerial roles in Pharmacy practice – either in community or public or private hospitals. On completion of the Level 7 course, graduates may be eligible for interview for roles such as Dispensary Manager (community/hospital), Pharmacy Manager (community) or Senior Pharmacy Technician (hospital).
Progression
