This course provides students with the understanding and knowledge that is involved in design, manufacture, hydraulics, tractor engineering and electrical technology widely used in the machinery industry.
The course focuses on the practical aspects of Agricultural Engineering such as modern electrical diagnostics techniques, the workings and repair of modern engines and transmissions. This is backed by subjects in machine design, material selection and hydraulics giving graduates the skills and technical ability to cope effectively with the rapidly changing technologies that are a feature of the farm machinery industry. This course is taught with a practical and hands-on approach, giving students the required education and training needed for a career in the farm machinery industry.
This course is run in conjunction with the Salesian Agricultural College, Pallaskenry, Co. Limerick. The delivery of the course is split evenly between the two campuses.
