Hide-If you’re interested in enhancing your skills for working with children and families and exploring how they develop and learn then this programme would be suitable for you. You will learn how to work positively and creatively with children, explore varied approaches to early childhood education and care, and design curricula. If you are enthusiastic about making a significant difference in children’s lives, this programme will suit you.
You can specialise in areas such as Creative Interventions; Children's Rights; Leadership, Management and Mentoring; Curriculum Design, and Leadership, Management and Mentoring. You will have the opportunity to complete a specialised research project in an area of interest to you and gain valuable research skills which you can use to enhance your skills working with children and families.
The course includes practical and creative projects, role play, debates, presentations and reflective journals. You will gain insights into outdoor learning and risky play through our purpose-built outdoor classroom, while applying your learning in a realistic setting in our dedicated early-childhood practice room.
The links developed with the students in your class through sharing experience and learning will be developed further and supported by guest speakers from relevant organisations.
IT Requirements: Students on this course will be required to have a medium spec computer/laptop (i.e. able to run Win 10, an AV solution and Office comfortably. It should be able to use Wi-fi and camera in order to attend online classes, and use other software such as SPSS, Adobe Connect; e.g. Latitude 5510; Latitude 5410;
