Hide-This course is designed for those following careers as biomedical scientists in the wider context of biomedical science (including biopharmaceutical and bio-industries). The MSc Biomedical Science provides eligibility for the title of chartered scientist if other criteria are met (corporate membership of the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS), and active engagement in continued professional development). It is not a suitable qualification for the purposes of Health and Care Professions Council registration in the UK.
This course provides an academically challenging and vocationally relevant science education for those wishing to develop their career in the biosciences, pharmaceutical or bio-industries.
Students can take specialisms in cellular pathology, clinical chemistry, haematology or medical microbiology. The course is completely online. The project is carried out in the students’ place of work under a work-based supervisor. Suitably qualified graduates may also choose to proceed to higher postgraduate degree programmes within the biosciences.
