The employer registers with the Industry Consortium Group (CSG) & SOLAS to participate on the programme.

The employer recruits and refers suitable applicants to CMETB for preapproval.

CMETB pre-approves all applicants.

Approved applicants are then referred to their local SOLAS Authorised Officer for full registration onto the programme.
Entry Requirements

Expand+Applicants in the first instance must secure a placement with a SOLAS approved employer and must meet the minimum standard under one of the following criteria:

Comment Qualification
Upon completion of the programme, successful applicants will graduate with an Advanced Certificate in Original Equipment Manufacturing.

This is a three year programme delivered as follows:

Year One

16 weeks off-the-job training at Cavan Monaghan ETB or Limerick Clare ETB


Rest of the year on-the-job, applying these skills in the work place.


Careers or Further Progression Graduates of this apprenticeship programme will have the opportunity to progress into supervisory and management roles.

Graduates are also eligible to apply to a range of degree programmes in the third level sector.
