Entry Requirements The minimum education qualifications are:

1. Applicants must hold a level 7 Ordinary Degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent qualification.

Or

2. Relevant industry experience – Assessment of industry experience is by application to the Institute of Technology Tralee. Recognition of Prior Learning is dealt with on an individual basis once an apprentice has started the registration process
Mature Applicants The Institute welcomes applications from persons who will be 23 years of age and over on the 1st of January of the proposed year of entry and who wish to be admitted as a mature student. The Institute reserves a minimum of 5% of all places for mature applicants.
Application Date In March of each year, MTU welcomes applications for add-on degree and honours degree programmes, with a commencement date of the following September.

The application process is open for one month, from early March to the first week in April each year (this date changes slightly due to the Easter holidays, but it is always within the first week in April).
