- Full FETAC Level 6 Award in Early Childhood Care & Education (6M2007). A full Level 6 Major award is made of eight modules.
- A major FETAC level 6 or HETAC level 6/7 award where a significant element of the course pertains to early childhood studies.
- Each applicant must have the equivalent of 2 years full-time experience in a Health Services Executive approved early childhood setting or a Department of Education notified service.
Special Requirements
Garda Vetting
Applicants for this programme are required to undergo Garda Vetting. For any programme where Garda Vetting is required, non-EU applicants will not be considered unless/until the pool of qualified EU applicants has been exhausted. For those admitted to any course requiring Garda Vetting, registration is temporary until such time as the vetting process is successfully completed.
Health Declaration
Applicants wishing to pursue this programme must complete a Health Declaration. Applicants must be deemed fit to practice in order to continue on the programme
Work Placement
The work placement modules are an integral part of the course. The aim of the placement is to provide learners with an opportunity to gain skills, experience and competence. Please note that with while the institute will make every effort to assist the learner in finding a placement final responsibility for securing the placement resides with the learner. Travel and accommodation are the responsibility of the learner.
Mandatory Training
Students will be required to undertake mandatory training as outlined by the course schedule. This is required prior to students going on placement.

This programme is designed for those working in the area of Early Years Health, Care and Education. It provides a pathway where-by those currently employed in the area may undertake a part time degree whilst simultaneously utilising their day to day work as part of the course.
Designed to enhance the existing experience of the student, the programme will provide the opportunity to develop competence in a range of theoretical and practical skills related to the area of early years’ education.
