Equip yourself with relevant skills to begin an apprenticeship in a range of areas. Employers are seeking apprentices who have basic qualifications in Maths, Computers and Communication skills which are of importance for their chosen trade. There is a massive increase in the number of apprenticeships available nationally. Graduates may progress to a variety of apprenticeship programmes.

Alternative Entry Mature students are very welcome on all courses in O'Fiaich Institute of further Education and the number of mature students is rising steadily. Some mature students are eligible for VTOS scheme (Vocational Training Opportunities Scheme).

Application Date You can apply online to Ó Fiaich Institute of Further Education. Applications for the each academic year will open from January 1st.

Entry Requirements All our Level 5 PLC courses are open to school leavers (Leaving Cert/ Leaving Cert Applied Students/A Levels/GCSE or equivalent), QQI Level 4 graduates and mature applicants. A QQI Level 5 award is a prerequisite to access a Level 6 programme.
Assessment Method There is continuous assessment throughout the year and examinations are taken in the main subjects in May.
