Course Content

Expand+The LLM International Business Law is a dual masters degree jointly offered by Maynooth University Department of Law and the Law School at the Catholic University of Lyon (UCLy); it enables law graduates to further their legal education by gaining a ...

Subjects Taught Students complete a total of 90 ECTS over the course of the programme.

The first semester (comprised entirely of mandatory modules) of this programme is taught in Lyon and students are required to be resident there. During the second semester in Maynooth, students choose from a range of modules.

Students complete 30 taught credits in each semester. Students must complete a dissertation (30 ECTS) during the summer, which can be supervised by either university.
Careers or Further Progression The unique perspectives offered by this dual degree are sufficiently varied to allow students to pursue a range of career opportunities and will be particularly relevant to those seeking to work in the increasingly internationalised field of commercial legal practice. The insights gained from studying law in a global commercial context will also be of benefit to those seeking careers in areas like financial services, policy-making and business.
