Entry Requirements |
Applicants must complete an application form and submit it to the college of their choice by the end of May. Applicants must have a Level 5 Certificate in Horticulture or three years’ experience in a relevant area of horticulture and provide a letter of recommendation from their current employer. |
Course Content |
A course for those employed in the sector and wish to deepen their knowledge of the retailing of plants and associated products. The Nursery Stock Production course would be complementary to this course. |

• Examine product display, promotion and public relations within the garden centre industry
• Explain the role of staff within garden centres
• Apply routine skills necessary to display merchandise and maintain stock
• Apply knowledge of a wide range of garden products and services with a view to providing professional customer service
• Support the line manager

Progression
This award is a component part of the full-time Advanced Certificate in Horticulture programme offered at both colleges. On completion of this course students can undertake further part-time courses, such as Nursery Stock Production which is complimentary to this Garden Centre Operations course |
