The Certificate in Restorative Practices aims to introduce the values, principles and processes for competent restorative practice and to engage learners in understanding the theory of Restorative Practice. Learners will also have an opportunity to explore the context, history and benefits of restorative practice in the community. This course will offer learners the opportunities to explore a range of issues surrounding the background and practical use of Restorative Practice.
On completion of the course learners should be able to:
• Collate evidence of their understanding of the principles relating to restorative practice and participate in assessment activities to provide evidence of their knowledge and understanding;
• Explore the range of structures and types of facilitation used within restorative practice and identified real-life situations where a restorative approach may be applied;
• To develop and share their understanding of the development of restorative practice within the community and confirm their understanding of the core values and principles for good practice;
• Develop an awareness of the roles and responsibilities in the Restorative Practice process;
• Show an understanding of what community means.
