UCD Science, Computer Science, Sustainability, Actuarial & Financial Studies Taster Lecture Event

This event will be held on Saturday 24 February 2024 from 10am to 12:30pm in the UCD O'Brien Centre for Science and will include a series of taster lectures on subject areas for the following courses:

It will also include a talk to introduce the following thematic streams available in the Science course:
Biological, Biomedical & Biomolecular Sciences
Earth & Environmental Sciences
Chemistry (Includes Medicinal/Sustainable/Biophysical)
Mathematics (Incudes Applied/Financial/Statistics)
Physics (Includes Theoretical, Astronomy & Space Science)
Science, Mathematics & Education

Computer Science
Actuarial & Financial Studies
This event is open to all Entry 2024 and Entry 2025 CAO applicants, including 5th and 6th Year secondary school students. Transition Year students are also welcome to attend but please note that the lectures are based on First Year lecture content. Each student is welcome to bring up to 2 guests on the day.

The aim of the event is to give CAO applicants an opportunity to attend a series of short lectures. Light refreshments will be available. Please note that lectures will be taking place across 4 lecture theatres and some are scheduled at the same time. There is 10 minutes after each talk to give everyone a chance to move between venues. On arrival, every attendee will be given a printed programme with the venue locations.
