Modern Music Performance
This course develops musicians’ performance skills, musical awareness, and knowledge of music technology and computer applications. Designed for musicians, songwriters, and producers, it offers hands-on experience across the music industry, with live performances and studio recordings central to the programme. Students gain practical skills and discipline through regular rehearsals and produce and perform live shows as part of their coursework.

An audition (voice or instrument) will be organised for each applicant. Applicants should be computer literate.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
Students will gain practical skills and knowledge in areas such as music composition and production, sound engineering, audio for film, TV, games, multimedia, and more. The course provides a solid foundation for further study or entry into the professional music industry. Graduates can progress to the Higher National Diploma in Artistic Development for Musicians at Dunboyne College or to music-related degree programmes at TU Dublin, TCD, DBS, IADT, Maynooth University, St. Patrick’s College, Maynooth, Marino Institute, TUS, SETU, MTU, DKIT, UL, and others. Students may also access First Arts at Maynooth University, which reserves 175 places for QQI entrants.
