Entry Requirements
• QQI Level 5 Major Award (or equivalent) in a related area e.g. Health Care Support 5M4339, Community Care 5M2786, Youth Work 5M4732, Applied Social Studies 5M2181, Early Childhood Care and Education 5M2009.
• Applicants are interviewed for this course.
General College Entry Requirements
You should be at least 16 years of age.

This one-year advanced qualification has been developed for people who wish to pursue a career in the voluntary, community and health sectors and this course prepares learners for progression to higher education. The courses offers a comprehensive programme of tuition and work-based education. The work placement must be completed in an appropriate Social Care setting.
Features of the course
• Weekly work placement 120 hours in total.
• Work Placements in centres that work with:
o Adults and children with physical and / or intellectual disabilities
o Older people
o People who are homeless
o People with addictions
• Garda vetting for work experience
