Entry Requirements
An Ordinary Bachelor Degree in Business or Equivalent.
N.B. This programme is designed to be undertaken over one academic year and one semester. A total of 60 credits (12 modules) is required to complete the programme. A maximum of 40 credits (8 modules) can normally be undertaken in the first academic year.
What is RPL?
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is when formal recognition is given for what you already know prior to starting on a programme or module. With recognition of prior learning the focus is on learning and not on experience as such. You can apply for RPL in any MTU accredited programme or module. Programmes which are accredited by professional bodies or any external awarding bodies may have their own procedures for RPL which you should refer to. Careers / Further progression
Progression
Graduates of this award can pursue graduate-entry-level positions and management-level roles in many types of business organisations, including Multinational Corporations, small and medium-sized enterprises, public and private sector organisations, and not-for-profit organisations.
Graduates with an Honours Bachelor of Business with a H2.2 award or higher can apply for MTU’s Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Strategy or pursue other Master's options or further professional qualifications in business discipline areas, such as but not limited to accounting, finance, HR, marketing, supply chain, innovation and information systems.
Graduates interested in second-level teaching can apply for a Progressional Master of Education qualification.

This course is eligible for funding under the SUSI grant scheme.

Overview
This programme has been designed to provide a balanced education through a critical study of the current dynamic and challenging business environment.
It provides students with a broad-based business education helping students to develop personal and professional skills which will give graduates the confidence to pursue a successful business career, in Ireland or overseas. You will have the opportunity to study a variety of business subjects as indicated below. Case studies and practical business projects are used to develop students’ analysis, communication and professional business skills. This programme prepares students for employment in a wide range of business areas and management functions of industrial, commercial and public enterprises, or as a self-employed individual
Award: Bachelor of Business (Honours) (Level 8 on the National Framework of Qualifications).
Bachelor of Business Honours, Year 1:
Complete two mandatory modules per semester and select two electives. Classes are 6-10 pm each evening.
Semester 1 (Year 1):
Monday: Strategy Analysis (Mandatory), Strategy Selection (Mandatory).
Tuesday: Managing Diversity and Inclusion (Elective), International Human Resource Management (Elective).
Wednesday: Business-to-Business Marketing (Elective), Sales Strategy Management (Elective).
Semester 2 (Year 1):
Monday: Business Ethics (Mandatory), Enterprise and Innovation (Mandatory).
Wednesday: Business Metrics (Elective), IS Strategy and Planning (Elective).

ACCS
ACCS is an acronym for “Accumulation of Credits and Certification of Subjects”. This scheme allows students (for specified courses) – instead of studying an entire course – to study one or more modules of that course. Modules passed are certified individually and can be accumulated, leading to the award of a Higher Certificate, Degree, or Honours Degree.
