If you have a desire to combine your artistic flare with digital skills then this is the course for you. You will learn a range of traditional art skills such as drawing, painting, sculpture and digital art skills such as graphic design skills and digital photography.

Entry Requirements
Leaving Certificate, LCA or QQI Level 4.
Mature students are exempt from Leaving Certificate requirement.
CERFL proficiency at B2 for access to Level 5 courses for those whose first language is not English.
An offer of a place on this course is contingent on the applicant meeting the requirements set out here and satisfactory presentation at interview.

CERTIFICATION:
QQI Level 5 Certificate in Art (5M1985).
Students are introduced to Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. No previous computer skills are required. All equipment such as DSLR cameras for digital photography is provided. This course can be used as a portfolio preparation course of both traditional art and digital art. This course facilitates preparation of a portfolio to apply for third level courses. No previous knowledge of the subjects or the equipment is necessary.

WORK PLACEMENT/EXPERIENCE:
Participants will be required to undertake 60 hours of work placement in a suitable area. The college will assist participants in identifying suitable placements.
Other Information:
Class tours to exhibitions, Crawford open day, conferences by visiting artists and course alumni visitors help to promote the step towards further studies. Teachers will help students on a one to one basis for their portfolios preparation.
