Entry Requirements
Education: Junior Certificate Standard or its equivalent Proficiency in Maths at Junior/Certificate standard or its equivalent.
Aptitude: Good numerical aptitude. Genuine interest in learning about manufacturing engineering. Excellent manual dexterity and ability to stand at a milling/turning machine for periods of time.
Previous Experience: Previous experience not essential.
Applicants will be invited to attend for aptitude test.
Important Information for International Learners whose mother tongue is not English. All applicants whose first language is not English and who have not been educated through the medium of English must demonstrate CERFL proficiency at B2 for access.

This full time Traineeship combines learning in the classroom and experience in the workplace to improve employment outcomes for participants and increase retention and productivity in the Engineering sector. The course is 50 weeks in duration. There is 15 weeks learning on the job. Each trainee will be assigned a workplace supervisor who will train and assess them in accordance with their Work-Based Learning Plan.
This traineeships leads to a Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (L2)
The aim of the course is to provide the trainees with the skills and related knowledge in setting up, operating and part programming a CNC lathe and in setting up, operating and programming a CNC milling machine and to develop their attitudes, personal effectiveness and job seeking skills to enable them to obtain employment as CNC Operators/Setters/Programmers.
