Duration
38 weeks, full-time.
Entry Requirements
It is desirable that applicants have participated in primary and post primary education.
Have a basic knowledge of horse care and riding and the ability to acquire the knowledge, skills and competencies set out in the course.
Be able to work with responsibility and demonstrate the ability to work on their own initiative.
Applicants must complete an informal interview to determine suitability for the course.
Careers / Further progression
What are the progression opportunities
Prepared to work as an assistant in a variety of equine sectors, including riding schools, studs, competition stables, livery stables, young horse training and dealing yards.
There is also the option to progress onto the Equine Level 6 course at Leitrim College of FET or to further education or training.

Course is free but there may be some minor costs for occasional expenses like fieldtrips, equipment and other related items.
