Computing - Galway
This programme provides an opportunity for graduates from computing disciplines to further develop professionally and personally, as well as enhancing their career prospects, by undertaking formal post-graduate education on a full-time or part-time basis. The programme endeavours to develop in participants advanced thinking and technical know-how in a range of interrelated and technology-centric sub-disciplines of computing.

Duration
1 year full-time, 2 years part-time blended delivery.
Study Hours
Full-time students: 15-20 hours / week. Part-time students: 3-5 hours / week for each module. Part-time students who are already in employment may be eligible to complete their research project at their workplace.
On-Campus Attendance
On-campus attendance is only mandatory for on-campus modules or module elements.
Entry Requirements
Applications must have a minimum of a H2.2 Level 8 award in computing (software development) or a closely related discipline with a significant level of software development, e.g. computer engineering or information technology. H2.2 applicants whose primary degree does not include the development of the significant programming language competency necessary to participate successfully on the course will be required to demonstrate, through RPL or equivalent, the requisite standard before being admitted to the degree.

Flexible learning courses are popular, and they fill on a first come, first served basis. There are two major intake periods throughout the academic year, September and January.

Who should apply?
Level 8 computing graduates, with good software development skills, who are interested in 12-month full-time study in on-campus / blended mode. Level 8 computing graduates, who are working in computing roles in industry, who are interested in 2+ years of part-time study in blended mode.
