Sports Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy Assistant
This one-year course offers students a foundation in rehabilitation principles and practices. It provides insight into assessing and supporting clients with mobility issues due to illness, injury, disability, or age. Students will develop key skills valued by the HSE, preparing them for roles in healthcare and supporting therapy programmes that aid in restoring movement and mobility.

Career Opportunities
Graduates can progress to a Level 6 award and then apply for the Level 8 Physiotherapy degree at the Royal College of Surgeons. Alternatively, students may pursue a sports or science-related Level 8 degree, followed by a Level 9 Physiotherapy programme at UCD. There are also numerous UK physiotherapy options, as well as Level 7 and 8 degrees in universities, technological universities, and private colleges across Ireland. This course also provides a strong foundation for direct entry into healthcare employment.
Higher Education Pathways
Graduates can progress to related undergraduate degrees in Ireland (e.g. Sports Rehabilitation, Athletic Therapy) and then apply for a Physiotherapy Masters programme in universities such as University College Dublin, University College Cork, University of Limerick, Portobello Institute or in the UK. Graduates are eligible to apply directly for Physiotherapy undergraduate degrees at Ulster University and certain other UK Universities.
