Medical Imaging and Radiation Sciences at UCC is a new programme designed to provide diagnostic radiographers, radiation therapists, and allied health professionals with the post-registration knowledge and skills to embark on specialist practice. The programme is delivered entirely online and will equip you with the knowledge, skills, and competencies to practice using advanced imaging modalities, treatment techniques, and in areas of extended or advancing practice.

Applicants for the MIRS programme are expected to have access, via your employer, to an appropriate clinical placement. There may be opportunities to study abroad or to undertake elective placements, but these would be considered on a case-by-case basis. It is expected that you will remain in appropriate clinical employment throughout your course.

On graduation, you will have access to increased opportunities to lead and develop clinical services within your areas of practice.
