This is a one-year foundation course in Art and Design. There is a strong emphasis on art practice and portfolio preparation.

1 year full-time.
Entry Requirements
Submit a selection of artwork at interview or submit digitally by email, to include:
• Two samples of drawings of Natural Objects (drawn from real objects)
• Two samples of drawings of Man-made Objects (drawn from real objects)
• Any examples of work you have made in any medium.
• Images photographed from your Leaving Certificate Art book if possible
• Any personal notebooks you work in (doodles etc.)
General College Entry Requirements
You should be at least 16 years of age.

This is a one-year foundation course in Art and Design. There is a strong emphasis on art practice and portfolio preparation. Students work in a range of media, focusing on the completion of work to the standard required for entry to Art and Design courses in Third-Level colleges in Ireland, Northern Ireland and the U.K.
Features of the course
• Focus on developing a balanced portfolio of work. Students are guided through production content and layout of a portfolio for art college
• Tuition in the development of skills in painting, drawing, crafts, cultural studies, ceramics, sculpture, combined materials, batik, mixed media
• Specialist workshop areas for ceramics, felt, sculpture/mixed materials
• Workshop experiences in Batik, felt, photography.
