Delivery
This certificate will be delivered as a block of 24 engagement hours plus independent learning time.
The part-time, blended programme will be delivered online over 8, 3-hour sessions. Two optional onsite support dates will also be offered. Delivery methods will include interactive workshops, in-session discussions, practical microteaching, co-facilitation and mentoring sessions, presentations, and group-based activities.

This course aims to support Associates, Facilitators and Development Officers who facilitate on the Club Leadership Development Programme (CLDP) provided by / to the GAA, LGFA and Camogie Association. It aims to do so by enhancing the knowledge and skills required to fulfil their roles in the following areas:
The modern-day roles and responsibilities of Club Officers
Designing and facilitating learning within a group setting
Mentoring groups and individuals
Developing leadership skills in volunteers
Using technology to design and deliver quality learning experiences
The Officer Development Committee for Gaelic Games in conjunction with SETU Carlow has designed this course to provide a formal Level 7 qualification for participants and provide a pathway for Associates to progress in their professional development.
The course will provide participants with opportunities to develop and reflect upon their practice and to be part of a structured community of practice. This will enable them to share ideas and practices with other Associates for more creative approaches to facilitation.
The initial intake will be limited to 20 people and the course will begin in mid-January.

Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of coaching and mentoring processes and theories and how they might apply and be deployed in an educational setting.
Demonstrate a critical awareness of coaching and mentoring processes to support learning and performance development.
Assess the influence of a coaching mindset in fostering a high-performing organisational culture.
Select, implement and evaluate coaching and mentoring styles to support learner assessment feedback processes.

Who is this programme for?
This course is aimed at those facilitating on the CLDP from the GAA, LGFA, and The Camogie Association.
Online Support
Students will have full access to a range of supports available online and through Blackboard, our virtual learning environment. These include our new online programme, PACE, which is designed to support students to access and effectively use library resources in order to complete assignments. Additional supports include an Academic Writing Centre and Maths Support Centre, freely available to all students.
Extended Campus
Extended Campus (EC) at SETU Carlow works with organisations in the design, development and validation of customised programmes relevant to industry and employer needs. Programmes are often designed to bridge a gap that currently exists and or to support the future needs of an organisation and are offered through flexibly delivered timetables that fits into work life and avoiding long commutes to and from the classroom.
Relevant curricula give organisations the opportunity to stay competitive and current in the changing workplace with industry-focused programmes that deliver job-ready skills. All programmes are delivered by experienced industry experts. Students who have relevant learning (formal or informal) may make application under recognition of prior learning (RPL) for advanced entry or exemptions on certain programmes.
The programme requires attendance at the online sessions, evidence of practical skills development, completion of assignments and the creation of a portfolio of learning.
The portfolio will also consist of evidence of the participants existing volunteer work as part of their instructional activities within their organisation.
Feedback will be provided to all learners. Learners will also have opportunities to submit drafts of work or work-in-progress.
There are no examinations as part of the programme.
