Nail Technology with Eyelash & Eyebrow Treatments
Students will learn the knowledge and skills required to work as a nail technician including anatomy of the hand and skin, manicure and pedicure, health and hygiene, salon procedures, product knowledge, cosmetic science, consultation and contra-indications and nail extension systems.

Entry Requirements
• You must have achieved 5 passes or 5 O6/ H7s or a combination of 5 O6/H7s or have achieved the LCA with a Merit profile, or have achieved a full relevant QQI Level 4 Award.
• Mature applicants (aged 21 and over) and other applicants without the formal entry requirements will be assessed individually for suitability.

Course Structure
Students will learn the knowledge and skills required to work as a nail technician including anatomy of the hand and skin, manicure and pedicure, health and hygiene, salon procedures, product knowledge, cosmetic science, consultation and contra-indications and nail extension systems. There is also an emphasis on practical selling, information technology skills and customer service skills.
What will I study?
The following modules are included on the course:
Year 1
• Industry Training Workshops such as Crystal toes, Digital Nail Art Printing, Tanning training and Threading
• Work with clients in live ‘pop-up’ salons
• Workshops in Crystal Toes, E-filing, Trudip, Mixed Media, One Stroke Nail Art, Tanning Training and Threading and BIAB
• Study Skills
• Career Advice and CV Preparation
• Salon Management Software (Memento)
Assessment and Certification
• This course is certified by the International Therapy Examination Council (ITEC).
• ITEC apply a rigid set of standards governing attendance, learning and examinations.
• Evidence of Treatments (case studies) are required for ITEC qualifications.
• The completion and signing of disclaimers and consultation forms is required for ITEC certification.
• Examinations take place in April and May.
