Assessment is through practical projects, where students tackle a range of client-initiated briefs, design competitions and studio projects. The curriculum mixes research, problem-solving and teamwork skills with theory and practice in areas such as typography, colour, layout, publishing, and creative advertising. This will include the production of 2D and 3D work with accompanying sketchbooks and written work. This will culminate in a final major project and end-of-the-year show. There are no formal examinations. All activities are supported through one-to-one tutorials and group discussions to inform personal progress and aid assessment. Assessment is continuous throughout the course, with assignments being graded at the end of each brief.
