This course will equip participants with a range of skills and the practical knowledge required to evaluate business opportunities, create business plans, undertake market analysis, secure start-up or expansion finance and successfully manage an enterprise. In addition, whilst undertaking this course, participants are offered the opportunity to set up and operate a business producing a product or providing a service.

Entry Requirements

A minimum of 5 passes at ordinary level in the Leaving Certificate or its equivalent.

OR

Leaving Certificate Vocational, Leaving Certificate Applied or QQI Level 4 qualifications.

The Leaving Certificate is not a requirement for mature students and appropriate experience can be considered as being equivalent to the Leaving Certificate.

Entrepreneurship can be described as an approach to life as well as a set of business skills. It requires a person to think creatively, ask difficult questions and challenge established ways of working. In addition, it is recognised that employers today wish to employ those with entrepreneurial skills as they are seen as an asset to an organisation. Thus entrepreneurial skills enhance a student’s prospects of employment.

This course will equip participants with a range of skills and the practical knowledge required to evaluate business opportunities, create business plans, undertake market analysis, secure start-up or expansion finance and successfully manage an enterprise. In addition, whilst undertaking this course, participants are offered the opportunity to set up and operate a business producing a product or providing a service.

On completion of the course students will have greatly enhanced their potential to start their own business, work with other employers or progress to degree courses in a range of Irish Higher Education Institutes
