Graduates who achieve the required standard may progress to Universities, such as UCD for the Sustainability Degree (DN240) or General Science (DN240) programmes. Or, if you’re ready to get to work, you can take advantage of direct progression to employment at conservation organisations such as the National Parks and Wildlife Service, Environmental Protection Agency, Irish Wildlife Trust, Irish Peatland Council, Birdwatch Ireland, Bat Conservation Ireland, and Native Woodland Trust.

SUSI (Student Universal Support Ireland) is Ireland’s single national awarding authority for all higher and further education grants. SUSI offers funding to eligible students in approved full-time third-level education in Ireland and also, in some cases, funding for students studying outside of Ireland.

Join our Applied Ecology programme and learn about general ecological practices with a strong emphasis on wildlife and sustainable methods. Develop a hands-on understanding of the importance of the environment and respecting the balance of nature. Our core modules focus on the relationship between plants and soils, providing the correct conditions for healthy growth, and preventing ecological problems.

Practical experience is an integral part of the course. Participants will be required to undertake 2 weeks of work placement in a suitable environment. The college will assist participants in identifying suitable placements.
