Entry Requirements
In general you need to have a minimum of 5 passes at ordinary level in the Leaving Certificate or its equivalent. Applications are welcome from students with Leaving Certificate Vocational, Leaving Certificate Applied or QQI Level 4 qualifications. Exceptions can be made where special circumstances apply on a case by case basis. The Leaving Certificate is not a requirement for mature students and appropriate experience can be considered as meeting the entry requirement for most courses. You must be medically certified evidence of fitness to participate in exercise. There will be a personal interview and football assessment (Trial).

There are approximately forty Higher Education Institutions including Universities, Institutes of Technology and private colleges offering places on a range of courses to QQI full award certificate holders. Full awards can also be used for graduates' progression to Further Education level 6 courses - visit cao.ie for further information. Full awards can also be used for entry to UK, European and International universities, on a case-by-case basis.
In addition to progression options within the College to one of our QQI Level 6 Sport and Leisure Management programmes, graduates may choose to apply to a range of courses in Institutes of Technology, including TUD.

There is now no cost associated with making an application for a course.
A €50 registration cost (which is non-refundable) will be paid by the applicant at the point of acceptance of an offer of a place on a course.
In addition to the normal PLC registration fee, costs which up until now have been paid directly by a learner themselves for items such as uniforms, equipment or fees to external exam bodies will now be covered by City of Dublin ETB.

You may be exempt from paying QQI Exam Fees if you satisfy one of the following criteria:
You hold a full medical card in your own right
You are the dependent child of a full medical card holder
You are eligible for a student grant from SUSI (letter from SUSI required)
You are getting Back to Education Allowance or a VTOS allowance

This course gives students the academic, physical, technical, tactical & psychological knowledge necessary for the demands as a student athlete with particular emphasis on soccer coaching. In addition it offers a broad introduction to Sport, Exercise and Recreation studies, providing students with the necessary skills to take up employment at entry level in the leisure industry. Students will improve their knowledge, competence and understanding of physical fitness and sport both practically and theoretically. Graduates often progress within the College to one of our QQI Level 6 Sport and Leisure Management courses on offer. Many past students have gained lucrative soccer scholarships to the USA.

Soccer Coaching 5 & 6, Kick Start 1 & 2, 4v4 workshop, 7v7 workshop, Strength and Conditioning workshop, Sports and Recreation Studies, Exercise and Fitness, Sports Anatomy and Physiology, Sports and Exercise Injury Prevention, Nutrition.
