MASA Pro Make-up Artistry & Hair Certificate
During the MASA make-up course, learners will become competent in the foundation skills of make-up artistry. The course is suitable for those who would like to start their own bridal make-up business or use this course as a stepping stone for the more advanced make-up courses.
In addition to learning the foundations of make-up artistry, the course combines the more creative aspects of make-up for beauty, bridal and photographic Work. The course is accredited by MASA (Make-up Art Standards Authority) and is endorsed by VTCT, this course is the only accredited make-up course on the market written by actual current make up artists based on industry requirements and not exam protocols.
No previous experience is necessary. This course is ideal for those who are looking to break into the make-up industry and top up their existing skills.
When this course is combined with a Beauty and Nail qualification, the student has so many different options upon completion of all 3 courses. We would encourage as much participation in our College Salon during the course and indeed after the course to continue to practice, gain confidence and experience as well as valuable salon work experience hours.
The learner will be able to:
Recognise skin types and disorders and take appropriate action in selecting or advising clients about treatments and aftercare.
Perform safe, hygienic, effective treatments to a commercially acceptable standard and timing in the following areas:
Skin Care
Lash and brow treatments
Face, neck and shoulder massage
Face Masks
Make-up techniques
Nail treatments including gel and 2-week manicure and all Nail technician Treatments to include gel, acrylic and gel tips.
Apply A Spray Tan
Waxing treatments
Adapt treatments to suit the individual clients needs by analysing information gathered at consultation, including contra-indications
Select, use and advise clients about skin care products and make-up for the face, and products for the hands and feet
Understand the basic key ingredients in cosmetic preparations
Have an understanding of the business and Health and safety requirements for any Beauty business
