The BTEI provides part-time Further Education programmes for young people and adults. It aims to give participants an opportunity to combine a return to learning with family, work and other responsibilities. Programmes are offered in partnership with a number of agencies throughout the country on a flexible part-time basis. Classes are offered throughout the year in the morning, afternoons, evenings or weekends. Courses lead to a range of accreditation at levels 1-6 on the NFQ.

Hide-Education: Applicants should have a standard of knowledge, skill and competence equivalent to NFQ Level 4 when accessing a Level 5 programme. Applicants may have participated in primary and secondary education although no formal qualifications are required.
Aptitude: Applicants must have a motivation to learn, an interest in the subject and the ability to acquire the knowledge, skills and competencies set out in the course.
Previous Experience: Applicants must be able to demonstrate a moderate range of knowledge, skills and competencies relevant to the course, be able to work with responsibility and demonstrate the ability to work on their own initiative.

Learning Objectives

Entry Requirements
Those who has either successfully completed a programme leading to a Level 4 QQI Certificate OR can demonstrate the levels of knowledge, skill and competence associated with NFQ Level 4 will be eligible to apply for entry to this programme.
Eligibility Criteria
This course is FREE for those without a leaving certificate or in receipt of a social welfare payment or a current medical card.
