The BTEI provides part-time Further Education programmes for young people and adults. It aims to give participants an opportunity to combine a return to learning with family, work and other responsibilities. Programmes are offered in partnership with a number of agencies throughout the country on a flexible part-time basis. Classes are offered throughout the year in the morning, afternoons, evenings or weekends. Courses lead to a range of accreditation at levels 1-6 on the NFQ.

Programme Aim

This Level 3 course in intended for learners who would like an introduction to Healthcare/Childcare and would like to brush up on their basic skills before progressing to a further course in Healthcare/Childcare.

The aim of this programme is to enable the learner to develop the relevant knowledge, skill and competence to use a range of skills and tools, under direction and with limited autonomy, related to childcare and healthcare. It enables the learner develop personal qualities and strengths to make informed choices to pursue a range of employment opportunities or to progress to further education or training.

Subjects include Caring for Children at QQI Level 3 and Healthcare at QQI Level 4. Completion of this course will lead to a full award in Employability Skills QQI Level 3.
