It is recognised in all sectors of the industry as a relevant qualification and is an excellent educational foundation for a management career in the industry.
The University Diploma in Financial Services is designed for those with school leaving qualifications, or those who have completed modules within the professional certificates and/or professional diplomas.

Curriculum
The University Diploma in Financial Services is a 60 ECTS programme consisting of 12 modules - three core modules and nine modules which may be selected from the Institute’s portfolio of level 7 professional certificates and/or diplomas.
The Core Modules include:
1. An Introduction to Financial Accounting Information (NFQ Level 7, 5 ECTS)
2. Macroeconomics (NFQ Level 7, 5 ECTS)
3. Microeconomics (NFQ Level 7, 5 ECTS)

•Two-hour exam for each module at the end of the semester
•The exam consists of written, essay-style and/or calculation based questions
•The pass mark is 40%

As well as being a level 7 qualification in its own right, this University Diploma is also Stage 1 of the Bachelor of Financial Services degree subject to successful completion of Microeconomics, Macroeconomics and An Introduction to Financial Accounting Information. So when a candidate has completed the University Diploma in Financial Services, they may have also completed Stage 1 of the three Stage Bachelor of Financial Services qualification.
