Successful participants will be awarded a Professional Diploma in Corporate Governance. The qualification is accredited (30 ECTS) and awarded by University College Dublin and is positioned at Level 9 (Masters Degree) on the National Framework of Qualifications.

The Diploma in Corporate Governance forms part of the MSc in Business (Leadership & Management Practice) pathway. The pathway framework is comprised of eleven diploma programmes. If participants successfully complete three of these eleven diplomas within a 5-year timeframe, they are awarded with the MSc in Business (Leadership & Management Practice). The Diploma in Corporate Governance provides directors, potential directors and those interested in governance with an accredited programme leading to a UCD qualification in corporate governance.

Programme objective

The programme is designed to provide systematic education and training to current and prospective company directors of all types of companies and organisations, including private companies, family companies, state companies and organisations, the voluntary sector and public limited companies. It provides participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to carry out the increasingly onerous duties and responsibilities of company directors. Holders of the Diploma in Corporate Governance can thus show that they have pursued a course of study that demonstrates a technical competence to carry out the varied tasks required of company directors.
