Course Description:
CSN is running a series of introductory talks for those curious about digital fabrication technologies such as 3D Printing, CNC and Laser Cutting. Talks are aimed at beginners and will cover briefly the history of these amazing tools before introducing and demonstrating the equipment. Software and design skills will also be discussed. Each evening is a separate introduction and should be booked separately. |

Expand+3D Print: The course will explain the concept of 3D printing and demonstrate the basics of how to use a 3D printer. We will show both basic and more sophisticated software for creating models, and a variety of materials that can be printed.

Hide-3D Print: The course will explain the concept of 3D printing and demonstrate the basics of how to use a 3D printer. We will show both basic and more sophisticated software for creating models, and a variety of materials that can be printed.
Laser: Introduction To Laser Cutting will introduce laser cutting and etching on a variety of materials and demonstrate our Trotec Laser machine. The course will teach you how to take a simple drawing or image and cut or engrave it. The capabilities of laser cutting will be explained and some worked examples will be shown.
CNC Router: The basics of creating a 2D drawing and then producing a cut object will be demonstrated through the course. The introduction will also cover the different types of materials that can be processed, and will introduce a number of software packages suitable for creating CNC projects.
