Hide-Back To Education Initiative (BTEI)
The BTEI provides part-time Further Education programmes for young people and adults. It aims to give participants an opportunity to combine a return to learning with family, work and other responsibilities. Programmes are offered in partnership with a number of agencies throughout the country on a flexible part-time basis. Classes are offered throughout the year in the morning, afternoons, evenings or weekends. Courses lead to a range of accreditation at levels 1-6 on the NFQ.

Aptitude: It is expected that the learner will have a range of learning styles, strengths and needs related to the programme.The learner will have the capacity to take responsibility for his/her own learning within the managed environment provided by the Kerry Education and Training Board.
Previous Experience: Many learners will have completed second level education. However if the learner has not achieved a previous formal qualification, it is expected that s/he will be able to demonstrate the levels of knowledge, skill and competence associated with the NFQ level 4 when accessing this programme.
