The BTEI provides part-time Further Education programmes for young people and adults. It aims to give participants an opportunity to combine a return to learning with family, work and other responsibilities. Programmes are offered in partnership with a number of agencies throughout the country on a flexible part-time basis. Classes are offered throughout the year in the morning, afternoons, evenings or weekends. Courses lead to a range of accreditation at levels 1-6 on the NFQ.

Hide-Education: Applicants should have a standard of knowledge, skill and competence equivalent to NFQ Level 3 when accessing a Level 4 programme. Applicants may have participated in primary and secondary education although no formal qualifications are required.
Aptitude: Applicants must have a motivation to learn, an interest in the subject and the ability to acquire the knowledge, skills and competencies set out in the course.
Previous Experience: Applicants must be able to demonstrate a moderate range of knowledge, skills and competencies relevant to the course, be able to work under direction with some ability to work on their own initiative.

The Level 4 programme in Employment Skills will facilitate learners to develop the core skills of Communications, Maths, I.T. and Personal Effectiveness.
The programme provides additional modules for the workplace, Career Planning, Tourism Visitor Care, Customer Service, Workplace Safety and Work Experience.
This programme will also be of benefit to learners’ who wish to progress to further training opportunities.
The Guidance counsellor is available to all learners.
Programme is free to those with less than upper second level standard of education or who are getting a DSP payment or who have a medical card.
